There are a couple of ways to create a case in Stride. Cases can be created at the same time a patient chart is made, or they can be added at a later time.
1. Add a Case upon patient creation
- A new patient can be added using the Speed Dial function or directly from the Calendar following the steps outlined here: Create a New Patient
- Once the patient's information is entered, you will have the option to create a case as shown below:
- This step is optional, and can be circumvented by selecting Skip. To create a case at this step, you will need to enter the Case Title and select an Intake Template (the intake template will auto-populate if your practice only offers one intake). The Chief Complaint field is optional.
2. Add a Case in the existing chart
- You will first need to navigate to the appropriate patient's chart. You can do so by selecting Go to Patient immediately upon patient creation, or by using the Patient Lookup tool:
- Once the chart has been opened, you will see the option to Start A New Case:
- Upon selecting this, you will be able to enter the Case Name, Chief Complaint, and select an Intake Template as desired:
Once the case has been created, you will see the following confirmation. You can open the case by selecting Go to Case from this view:
- Alternatively, you can open the case from the chart level by selecting View Case:
To add additional cases to the chart, you will select Add New Case:
If needed, you can edit an existing chart by following the steps outlined here: Edit a case
