This article walks through the step-by-step process of setting up the patient's insurance and case information after your practice's data has been loaded into Stride.
Remember: Stride will load in all of the information that is provided from your previous EMR system. Specific patient details available for upload can vary based on which EMR you are coming from.
NOTE: Without following the below steps prior to your Clinical Launch, Claims will be stuck in Billing > Needs Attention, and will not move to the Clearinghouse. Take time to complete these steps to ensure no delay in processing claims.
The following items are details that are NOT provided to Stride from your previous EMR system:
- Appointments
- Patient insurance coverage details
- *Patient Gender
- Info on copays, deductibles, etc.
- Authorizations
- Clearinghouse payer mappings & Fee schedule
- Plan of Care (frequency and duration)
- Certification period
- Progress note count

Site Administrator:

- Add in a Fee Schedule and Payer Configurations under Settings
Front Office/Admin:

- Begin duplicating your schedule, starting with the first patient scheduled on the first day of clinical launch.
- To do this, search for the patient in Stride, in the top Right hand search bar. Once you have found your patient, open their chart and take time to add or verify gender, and to add case and individual Insurance coverage details to each patient utilizing the following steps:

- ADD or VERIFY Gender
- Review & rename the case if needed.
- Be sure to add the insurance at the CASE level, and Use pVerify here, not at the level of the patient.

- It is normal to have a few errors for pVerify at first, please report these to support@stridethera.com so that we can assist quickly to configure each payer with pVerify.

Add in authorizations that exist on each Case

- If you had 10 visits authorized, and the patient has utilized 5 of 10 prior to the first visit in Stride, enter 5 authorized visits.

- Once the case, insurance, & authorization information is set for this patient, Schedule their first appointment in Stride.
- To schedule this patient out quickly, use the Copy & paste appointment feature on the Appointment Details box.
- Repeat for each patient.
*This step by step process ensures all appointments on your schedule have been scrubbed and exist with correct insurance, authorization, and case details.
Clinicians: (at clinical launch)

- Existing Patients - Complete Transitional Progress Notes to set the POC at each patients FIRST VISIT in Stride

- Clinician must select POC during the Note Finalization Process.
