If a patient changes insurance during an active case, you can change this by following the steps below:
- Add new insurance to chart
- Patient chart > Add new insurance
- Patient chart > Add new insurance
- Replace the existing insurance on the case
- Patient Chart > View Case > Edit Case
- Choose the new payer from the Primary Insurance drop-down menu
- Save
- Sync the new insurance to any applicable notes
- View Case
- Click the sync icon to the right of "Insurance Coverages"
- Sync the new insurance to any applicable existing claims
- View Case
- Click into the new payer
- Select Sync in the top right corner

- Archive the original insurance
- Patient Chart
- Click into the old payer
- Select Archive in the top right corner
If any claims are pending payer, I recommend reaching out to the payer to see how they would like to go about voiding these claims.
When a new payer is added at the case level, it will be applied to notes and claims moving forward.
