Primary, secondary, and tertiary payers must be configured on each individual case. It is important to keep this up to date because the active insurance information will be attached to all new claims generated on the case.
Payers on the case can be updated mid-treatment. For example, if a patient’s insurance changes from Aetna to United on Jan-1, the primary payer can be updated on the case and will update only future notes and claims without affecting past notes and claims.
Old insurance coverages can be archived as long as no active cases are using that insurance.
