Coinsurance Estimation
You add the Estimated Patient Responsibility for Coinsurance directly in the Insurance Details section of the Patient Chart. Once entered in the Est. Coinsurance field, the amount will automatically preload as the payment amount for each visit—helping to streamline payment collection for your team and improve the checkout experience for patients.
Est. Coinsurance:
If you would like to set an estimated coinsurance amount to be collected each visit, you can set the estimate amount in the by selecting View Insurance Details and then clicking Edit.
Using the new Est. Coinsurance box, you can manually enter the amount you wish to collect for each session.
Ex. If a patient’s responsibility is 20%, and the clinic plans to collect $20.00 per visit as the estimated coinsurance, simply enter 20.00 in the Est. Coinsurance box. see below
The amount entered will automatically appear in the Appointment Details section and will autofill as the Amount Due on the Payment screen at check-in.
Cases with Secondary Payers
Stride automated payment prompts will read information only for the PRIMARY PAYER on the case. For cases where a Secondary Payer is present, it is recommended to enter 0.00 in the coinsurance estimation feild OR 0.00 in the copay of the primary payer. This will help to ensure automated payment processes are reflecting true patient responsibility when multiple payers are present on a case.
