This report displays all transactions that were made within the date range, as well as what date of service the transaction applied to. The Payments report is designed to display true revenue - or earned income - and therefore will only show payments that have been allocated to a date of service. Outstanding charges will not be included on this report.
This report is also helpful to view all comments that were made in the details box of the payment collection pop-up.
The date range defaults to the past 30 days, but this can be adjusted as desired. The default view is grouped by Patient, but this report can also be grouped by Location.
Please note that this report pulls from the transaction date, meaning the date when the payment was taken - regardless of which date of service the payment is allocated toward. That being said, this report does include a column for date of service, which can be filtered as well.
When grouped by Patient, this report includes the following columns, all of which can be filtered:
Transaction Date: the date on which the payment was collected
Patient: the patient associated with the payment
Date of Birth: the patient’s date of birth
Case: the case associated with the payment
Location: the practice location where these payments were collected
Type: the charge type (these will be the same as the options present in the “type” drop-down for payment collection)
Date of Service: the date of service associated with the payment (note: this may differ from the transaction date)
Amount Applied: the payment amount applied to the date of service
Method: the payment method associated with the charge (cash, check, package, etc)
Details: details added in the comment box of the payment collection pop-up
In this report, refunds will populate as negative amounts and will be listed as separate lines from the original collection. Negative amounts associated with the method Credit Balance reflects refunds that have been made to the Credit Balance.
When grouped by Location, this report includes the following columns, all of which can be filtered:
Location: the practice location where these payments were collected
Card: the amount collected via card
Terminal: the amount collected via terminal
Cash: the amount collected via cash
Check: the amount collected via check
Balance: the amount allocated towards dates of service from credit balances
Total: the total amount collected
This report can be exported as a CSV file by clicking the ‘download’ icon in the top right corner.
